This is a tech guide to show you how the PasswordByPhone.com PayPerMinute system works and can be implement in your member area.

Everything starts when the PBP PayPerMinute layout is requested by visitors and PbP creates a (inactive) PayPerMinute session with a pin-code. Then visitors calls and enters the pin-code on the phone. If the pin-code is valid PbP marks the session as active.

Once visitors access the member area, the PayPerMinute system is initialized with the sessionId, given pin and packageID. As long the visitor does not terminate the call he has access to the member area.

When he terminates the call then session is marked as inactive and visitors are re-directed to PBP Payment Layout.

In the downloaded ZIP file you will find these files:

index.php; witch is a sample content file representing a member area / protected content to be billed used the PayPerMinute.

inc.vd_config.php; witch is the Configuration file used to define various values for the PayPerMinute client.

inc.vd_functions.php; The central include defining the needed functions an initializing the PayPerMinute client.

inc.vd_htmlHeaderContent.php; This file Include outputs code for the HTML-header section.

In addition to the files above there’s the xajax toolbox, a javascript framework used in this implementation for the ajax communication with the PbP PayPerMinuteAPI. This tool is must be kept under the folder /xajax.

For the initialization of the client this implementation uses cURL.

Each page in the member area which will use the PayPerMinute needs to have the structure as found in the sample index.php

• A PHP session has to be started before the PayPerMinute client is initialized
• The inc.vd_functions.php has to be included before any output is send to the browser
• The inc.vd_htmlHeaderContent.php has to be placed in the head section of the HTML-code

Now that you know how PayPerMinute works, here's how to setup the configuration file (inc.vd_config.php):

vdAPIusername, vdAPIpassword:
The API username and password () defined for the respective site owner has to be set according to his settings. This is your PBP-id as the username and in general your account password. Some affiliates keep a different account password from the API password, if this is your case, please contact our tech support team if you need them to be reset or if you would like to set them up differently.

vdValidPbpPackag:
The PbP packageId representing the current member area has to be set to limit access to requests containing this package.

vdXajaxServerPath:
Absolute path to the installation of the xajax toolkit.

vdXajaxURI:
Path to the xajax toolkit relative to the document_root.

vdCurlPath:
Path to the curl binary. (Default path: /usr/bin/curl).

It is important to clarify that PayPerMinute does NOT use any kind of user credentials for some kind of login procedure.

Once you’re ready we only need your member area URL and simply complete the setup at our end.
